The Northern Gulf grazing industry is located in Far North Queensland and covers regional issues situated around the northern gulf river systems (for more information go to Our Region). As the largest tropical savannah, the area covers 425,000 square kilometres and includes a varying array of environment such as woodlands, rainforest and open flood plains.
There are approximately 200 stations in the region, varying in size, mainly owned and operated through family based enterprises. This has been diversified with the introduction of coporate owned stations.
